Travel by Swiss rail from your arrival in Zurich or Geneva to the resort village of Engelberg. Explore the village on your own and decompress from your journey.

Our mountain adventure begins with an excursion to Mount Titlis. Here you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama from the Titlis Cliff Walk, the highest suspension bridge in Europe; as well as pass through the Glacier Grotto, 33' beneath the 5000 year old glacier. We'll return by gondola to the Trübsee and then begin our trek over the Jochpass and into the Bernese Oberland. We'll continue past the Engstlenalpsee, and walk through meadows of wildflowers to the alpine hamlet of Tannalp.

The trip concludes after breakfast and you are free to explore the village before making your way back to your airport or destination of onward travels!

DETAILS:
Arrival: The airports in Zurich and Geneva are directly connected to the railway network which take you to Engelberg and from Kandersteg. We will send you train schedules and instructions on how to get to Engelberg based on your flight information, and will be available for guidance should you have any questions during your commute. On the first day the group will meet for a welcome dinner at 7:00 on the hotel terrace.
Departure: After breakfast in Kandersteg, plan your departure or onward travel.
Pre/Post travel: If you would like to arrive a day early to avoid any travel delays at the start of the tour (recommended), your room will be reserved for you and you can settle up directly with the hotel for the extra night. You can explore Engelberg's pedestrian town center, the 900 year old Benadictine Monastery and baroque Abbey, the panoramic Brunni Trail with views of the Titlis and Engelberg below, a barefoot path around Lake Härzli, and a mountain roller coaster. We will be happy to assist with your pre- and post- tour travel arrangements. We can help work out the details to make the best of your vacation experience.
Accommodations: We'll stay in mountain inns, lodges, and 3 star hotels; one night in a bunk room and two nights with shared bathrooms. All are clean, comfortable, and unique to ensure a memorable, culturally-rich stay. Trip pricing is based on double occupancy, however, single rooms can be an option, if available, for a surcharge.
Meals: Included in the price are seven breakfasts plus seven three course dinners, with one free evening to explore on your own. You can shop for lunches and snacks most days at a local grocery or order a packed lunch from the accommodation the night before. There will be plenty of refueling options along the trail as well.
Water: Water in the villages and towns throughout the Alps is pure and safe for drinking. There will be plenty of refill options during the days as well.
Public transport: There are alternative transportation options along the trail for those who wish to bypass sections of the trek, with the exception of the last two days. On those days, the option would be to meet the group at the next accommodation by means of public transport.
Packing: You will carry your pack with you throughout the duration of the trip. We will walk up to 63 miles with 22,000 ft of elevation gain in 7 days, so the lighter your pack, the more enjoyable your days will be. A detailed packing list will be provided to all participants well before departure for each trip.
