Frequently Asked Questions
-
What will the group size be?Each tour has a set minimum and maximum number of participants, and we usually have two guides to ensure extra support and attention. We like to keep our groups small which creates a fun, flexible dynamic that isn’t possible with larger crowds. For groups of more than 12, ask us about arranging a private guided tour.
-
What's included in the trip price? What’s Included: Unless stated otherwise in a trip’s itinerary, the cost covers pre-trip guidance, experienced guides, accommodations, meals, transportation, and entrance fees as outlined in the itinerary. What’s Not Included: Unless specified in the itinerary, the cost does not include airfare, passport or visa fees, airport taxes, medical expenses, emergency evacuations, optional transport (like individual train tickets, buses, or lifts), certain meals, beverages, items not on set dinner menus, or personal expenses.

-
How much money do I need? One thing not included in our tours is lunch. We've found that everyone has their own preferences and schedules when it comes to meals, so we leave this choice up to you. Some guests prefer to bring a packed lunch for a picnic-style meal, while others enjoy a leisurely restaurant experience. The choice is yours!
-
Why is it more for a single traveler? The main reason solo travelers pay more is because hotel rooms are typically priced per room rather than per person. When two people share a room, they split the cost, making it cheaper per person. For a solo traveler, there’s no one to share the cost with, so they end up covering the full price of the room on their own. This is sometimes referred to as a "single supplement." Instead of solo travelers paying extra, it's really that pairs get a per-person discount by splitting the cost.
-
What should I pack?A detailed packing list will be provided to all participants well before departure of each trip.

What are the accomodations like?Accommodations vary depending on the trip. All are clean, comfortable, and unique, ensuring a memorable and culturally rich stay. Trip pricing is based on double occupancy; however, single rooms may be an options for an additional surcharge.

-

-
Do you accomodate special dietary needs?Yes! You will have the option when booking to share your dietary needs.
-
When are payments due?A deposit of $600/person is required to begin your reservations and will be applied toward your final trip cost. All trips have a limited number of spots, and a deposit secures one for you. 50% of the balance is due 6 months prior to departure. The remaining balance is due 90 days before your trip starts. You will receive an email with a link to pay when a payment is due.
-
What is your cancellation policy if I need to cancel? If you cancel: Deposits are non-refundable Within 4-6 months from the trip start date: 50% of total payment refunded Within 3 months or less from the trip start date: No refunds If we cancel: If we cancel a trip due to low participant numbers, you will be notified no later than 90 days prior to departure and will receive a full refund. If a trip is cancelled at the last minute due to external events outside our reasonable control, we will issue full refunds. This type of scenario is unlikely but always a possibility - travel insurance recommended
-
Do I need travel insurance? We highly recommend purchasing short-term travel insurance that includes coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, lost baggage, and medical emergencies. Travel insurance typically reimburses non-refundable expenses, such as airfare and land costs, if you must cancel due to injury, illness, or family emergencies. Additionally, it can cover emergency evacuation expenses from remote locations. Travel insurance is available through most insurance and travel agencies.
